  • Jody Kamisato

    INSTRUCTOR

    Jody Kamisato is an extraordinary man whose talent, ambition, and generosity have had a lasting impact on the world of music, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship. As the founder and owner of Ukulele Hale - a studio providing masterful ukulele classes to learners of all ages and skill levels - Jody has dedicated his life to fueling the passion of musical creativity in individuals across the globe. He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Music Marketing, as well as being part of the award-winning group “Heart & Soul” - many will recognize him from his featured appearances in Disney Aulani's "Starlit Hui" Show. In his spare time Jody loves spending time with family and friends, exploring nature, going on thrilling adventures, playing pickleball, and enjoying a classic burger. His limitless drive for greatness has made him an inspiring figure that continues to delight generations old and new. His ultimate goal in life is to make a difference through his work, and leave a lasting legacy served with aloha.

  • Gina Sunada

    INSTRUCTOR

    Gina Sunada is an experienced and talented ukulele instructor whose passion for music is infectious. From the moment she started playing the ukulele at 6 years old, she was inspired to share her love of music with others. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and participated in the University of Hawaii Bands program, playing clarinet. Since then she has been sharing her knowledge with a teaching career spanning over 23 years. Gina has performed many times in Japan as she’s gone and done international tours that include Australia and other places across the US. She’s also taught in public schools, from Preschool to High School and even for a semester at the University of Hawaii. Gina is a supportive and kind mentor who encourages her students to reach their goals. In addition to teaching others, she also enjoys playing music with the Honolulu Wind Ensemble, Oahu Civic Orchestra, Oahu College Band, Hawaii Symphonic Band and recording albums such as "Cucumber Salad" with Kui Lima. When she's not teaching or making music, Gina loves animals (including her pet bunny Creampuff), reading, drawing and playing Pokémon. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite food is ramen. Gina has a unique teaching style full of enthusiasm and fun that makes it easy to learn the ukulele. She works hard to ensure her students become positive and confident individuals while striving for excellence in music.

  • Cody Chung

    INSTRUCTOR

    Cody Chung is an easy-going and experienced ukulele player, making him a great go-to for learning the instrument. He started playing at 12 years old and has since then become proficient in his craft which he has shared with others as an instructor at Ukulele Hale since 2018. With over 30,000 subscribers to his popular YouTube channel, Cody is an inspiration to many. Although Cody has achieved a lot of success in his musical career, he remains humble and kind while passing on his knowledge to his students. He graduated from the University of Hawaii with a Bachelors degree in Music and minored in Asian Studies, which speaks to his ambition and dedication. As an ambassador for the aloha spirit, Cody has performed in Japan, and continues to spread the message of love through his music. Cody is a dependable mentor who comes with a lot of experience, skill and passion when it comes to playing the ukulele. He incorporates fun into every lesson while still making sure that learning stays at the center of everything he does. Whether you're just starting out or want to take your skills to the next level, Cody's enthusiasm and dedication are contagious! When Cody isn’t listening to his favorite Baby Metal group, you can find him teaching the ukulele, playing video games or arranging a wide variety of musical pieces.

  • Tyanna Hemmings

    CONTENT CREATOR

    Meet Tyanna! Also well known as, Temika – the Bronx native making waves as Ukulele Hale's official content creator! Moving to Chaminade University to major in Forensic Science and minor in Chemistry only strengthened her passion for creativity. From a young age, Temika has always been passionate about music and taught herself how to play the ukulele when she was 15. In her free time, she loves indulging in all sorts of creative outlets like fashion, singing, and learning new languages. There's no telling what this woman will do next, but it's sure going to be electric!

  • Casie Azuma

    HALE AMBASSADOR

    Casie Azuma is an incredibly ambitious individual who has achieved much in spite of all the obstacles life threw her way. After graduating from the University of Hawaii with a Masters degree in Library and Information Science and minoring in American Studies, she now works for Eugene M. Azuma DDS Incorporated - proving her hardworking and determined spirit. When she's not busy working, Casie likes to relax by curling up with a good book or enjoying the beat of her favorite music; Michael Jackson and BTS know how to get her dancing! As an individual filled with love, kindness and creativity, Casie wants to make life better for those around her - what an inspiring goal!

  • Reid Nhomi

    HALE AMBASSADOR

    Reid is the kind of person who loves to spread the joy of music. He has an incredible passion for teaching and performing, and his goal is to inspire others through music. His experience as a band instructor and passionate mentor allows him to reach out to young musicians and help them discover their talent. Whether he’s teaching private trombone lessons or playing in the Honolulu Wind Ensemble and Oahu Civic Orchestra, he’s sure to keep everyone having fun and feeling happy. Reid also takes time to give back to the community by helping Ukulele Hale at various events. He truly is a musician who loves to share his passion with others! Reid's enthusiasm for music and teaching has led him to many accomplishments. As a graduate of the University of Hawaii's Baccalaureate Degree of Arts in Music program, Reid is an accomplished musician. While attending university, he participated in the Marching Band and has since become proficient on both Tenor and Bass Trombone. He brings his knowledge and skill to every performance, inspiring others with his musical talent. Reid is a wonderful friend, sharing his passion for music with anyone he meets. His kindness, enthusiasm, and willingness to help make him an incredible asset to the musical community. He's always looking for ways to improve his craft and inspire those around him. We are lucky to have Reid as part of our musical ohana!
